mRK-SMR provides efficient water billing control and management with full integration to Deposit Control, Billing, Financial and Revenue Collection systems. It performs on-the-field meter reading and spot billing tasks. It also enables the supervisor to communicate with on-field staff where messages are displayed on the handheld screen for their viewing attention.
mRK-SMR is separated into two sub-systems: eRKTM-SMR (PC-Based Automated Meter Reading and Spot Billing System) and mRK-USB (Mobile Utility Spot Billing System).
eRKTM-SMR controls and manages water works agency, such as PAM with day-to-day meter reading operations, which interfaces for data transfer between PC and server.
Features
Receive download file - extracts downloadable files due for reading from the mapped drive / directory at server ans stores it in the directory.
Route definition shows the definition or status of the routes. Larger routes are splited and unwanted routes can be removed from the system.
Route assignment - organized route file can be assigned to each respective meter reader. Prior to the assignment user can browse the status of handheld, as well as the route. After assignment, meter readers can print the Meter Reader Route Listing.
Enter message - the system acts as channel of communication where messages can be sent to the meter readers and/or consumer via these messages option.
Create load set file provides two sub-functions - load data to the handheld and display load set files.
Load / Unload handheld files provides a series of function and sub-functions related to loading and unloading of data to and from the handheld. The system provides option to load or unload single or all the handheld in one session. The status of the chosen process can be viewed or printed.
Post / Backup reading data is the backup process of all meter reading results into storage media (diskette / CD-R / CD-RW / etc) and subsequently updates the results to the respective routes.

System Maintenance enables user to perform initial system setup, maintaining a list of valid passwords for user, maintaining a list of valid passwords for meter readers and allow users to enable or disable which daily reports are compulsory for printing.
HHT Maintenance consists of two functions pertaining handheld maintenance - handheld introduction to the system and new version program loading and Releasing loaded route from handheld.
Table Maintenance contains various codes and description, where user can add, modify or delete unwanted / incorrect codes and descriptions.
Enquiry enables user to browse downloaded accounts' details.
System Log maintains system log files.
Re-indexing enables user to re-index the consumer and meter files simulteneously.
mRK-USB captures utility data, prints bill on the spot and stores the data in its local database. The local database will update the central database via Bluetooth, Wi-Fi or wireless LAN among others and at the same time it performs efficient on-the-field meter reading tasks. This system enables the Supervisor to communicate with field staff through messages displayed on screen.

Login is accessible only by authorized meter readers with valid user ID and password.
Data transmission enables meter readers to transmit captured transaction data from handheld computer to PC based system (eRKTM-SMR).
Summary display shows the route summary display and broadcast message display.
Input reading enables meter readers to enter the reading and the system will perform validation on the input, which allows meter usage selection.
